So I have decided that having you see my screenshots wasn’t enough, so now you might be getting some special guests to share what ends up on their folder.
My first guest lands from the darkness of Berlin, but dont be fooled she is a Catalan girl at heart. She is the OG creative destructor: Andrea Mena. A true renaissance woman. Think Susan Sontag meets Billie Eilish. My lovely Andrea is the perfect mix of a culturally curious, actively intellectual and online savvy person. That cocktail of a brain gets put to work every day in service of fashion.
”Here’s my I-went-over-the-10-screenshot-limit-oops contribution to one of my favorite corners of the internet, Screenshot Central <3 Ly Nico”
I just made some massive life altering decisions, one of them being to move abroad in my late 20s (refuse to be called a 30yo)
so of course I’m rewatching Lena Dunham’s Girls for the 6th time or so. It ages like fine wine every time, this one hits the spot.
And in relation to that one, WWLDT (what would Lena Dunham think) of the tweet that went: NYT cooking recipes: Lemony garlicky miso gochujang brown butter gnocchi on a sheet pan. there is such a thing as going too far with the NYT style recipes. bring back normal food, Spanish red wine and stop charging us 10 euro for dessert that’s always chocolate mousse with salt and olive oil. dua lipa you’ve done too much damage
Ungatekeeping for you. She always has the best fits on TikTok and has great second-hand designer finds, I’m in love with this Issey Miyake.
My #1 wishlist item right now. Someone please help me find them.
(This is from Marta Gui’s latest substack) Talking about epistemic anxiety: the need to know more. It’s logical that we’re going through a new epistemic anxiety era in fake-news times of not knowing what’s true or false, doubting what we know for certain, and in times of consuming hyper-fast-paced content 24/7. My personal rec here is to start reading the classics again and to play classical chess, try to force our capacity for concentration again. Or the classics could also be the old super long blogposts!!!! This oneranking all 293 Sufjan Stevens songs changed my life last year. I discovered it thanks to Adrián’s contribution to Gárgola Digital.
And on that note… two screenshots that go together since they work as hyperlinks: another one of the risks of the everconsumption of content era. I took this from Drew Austin’s amazing newsletter from this week titled The Post-Work City. Please please go read it.
We’re all tired of hearing about AI at this point but I loved this point here: when are we ever gonna have the patience to see someone crafting a specific view, a specific aesthetic/movement for decades again?
And to end on a good note, some life vibe hacks. Fuck living through historical events weekly, this is the best time of the year, summer’s about to arrive, we’re nourishing our community and fighting back, checking up on our friends, and finding purpose. Fuck it we ball. Come vibrate at the same frequency!!!!!!! <3
See you soon, it might be me or someone else. Who knows!
